Between 1897 and 1899 arrived in Santo Domingo the first families who professed the Protestant faith. They were part of the Evangelical Church of Río de la Plata, whose only guide of faith, education and life, is the Bible. In its human are historical and doctrinal aspects including Lutheran and Reformed. This group of people to attend religious events should be moved to another location, where they met led by a pastor who came from the town of Esperanza.
Over time the group of evangelical families grew. In 1928 the first meeting was held in a private home of our people by the Pastor Vöhringer, and it was this gentleman who advised and encouraged the group to found a congregation, as well as a prayer house in Santo Domingo. This idea ignited the hearts of the majority of those present, who a few days later they met again for this purpose.
On July 22, 1928 resolved to found the "evangelical community of Santo Domingo" and decided the same day begin construction of a temple. In August the same year he formed a provisional committee which was to complete the legal procedures and to raise funds for the work.
The April 18, 1929 the cornerstone was laid, and the 29th of September of that year attended the family excited and proud of the achievement, at the inauguration of the temple. still have a goal to meet and was to have bells calling to prayer sounded.
