Raid Fogger Through Floor

THE WEEK OF WONDER WOMAN.

The Comic Club of Guayaquil and Guayaquil Municipal Library, are continuing their cultural programming and joint art in 2011, this time holding a female icon of the Ninth Art: Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman. During the week of 16 to 21 May in the City Library will celebrate the 70th anniversary of this popular character with Superman and Batman are the "Trinity" of DC Comics.

As part of this tribute, and extension as a tribute to women, we organized a series of lectures given by women only: GIRL POWER. Women in the comic.

Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston and first appeared in All Star Comics # 8 December 1941, with illustrations by Harry G. Peter, whose name has gone unnoticed. It is understood that Wonder Woman is the representative of a forgotten race, that of the Amazon, which remain hidden from the eyes of humanity and designs of their gods and is sent into the world of men as His messenger to prevent them from being destroyed themselves even more in a moment in history when the planet was engulfed in the Second World War and the crash of Steve Trevor was mentioned as a message from the same Gods of Olympus.

This was chosen after a great tournament in which all of her sisters and her, Princess Diana, daughter of Queen Hippolito, was the winner, although the Queen had objected to his participation, but involved young princess in disguise. Diana was willing to be appointed, not only because it was concerned about the fate of humanity, but because he was madly in love with Steve Trevor. A Wonder Woman

distinguish their strength, superhuman speed and agility, their bracelets which can reject the bullets and their bond forged by Hephaestus himself from the belt of Gaea. This loop, requires telling the truth to anyone subjected to it. Data special is that Moulton, the creator of Wonder Woman, was also the creator of the lie detector. Moulton was

psychologist and says that his idea was to create a character that would serve as a reference for girls then, concerning which hardly could be found in comics at that time, as its characters and its audience, were essentially male. But, like writing comics at that time was something not well seen, Moulton used the pseudonym Charles Moulton.

As in the Iliad or the Odyssey, Wonder Woman had to leave their homeland to fight for a long time the threats were presented in a strange world to her and every time he tried to return, a situation the further away from his native island paradise or Themyscira. On more than one occasion, in fact, was exiled or was expelled by his own countrymen or their homeland was magically transported to other locations. However

its origin, its relationship with the Greek myths was not operated since its inception until at least mid 1980, when after the DC event called "Crisis on Infinite Earths," author George Perez returned to the beginning of the character and used to highlight his part mythical.

In short, it was said that the people of the Amazon was the result of the search for the gods really have a faithful and believing that the venerated as they should, unlike the rest of humanity who had taken different paths. Thus, taken from limbo souls of women who had died tragically in the early stages of mankind and gave them life.

These Amazons remained faithful to the gods, until, being deceived by Hercules and angry for having been humbled and humiliated, broke their vows. The gods decided to exile in what later became known as the island of Themyscira. There would be the custodians of a portal, if opened, could unleash major disasters.

There Hippolita his queen, who had been reincarnated the soul of a dying woman who was pregnant, felt a great emptiness, without knowing why. Thus, in reward for his loyalty, he was told to make a clay figure in the shape of a baby, whom the gods gave him the soul of the unborn baby that Diana was christened. She grew

blessed by the gods and being cared for and educated by all Amazon sisters (including considering all sisters). One day, an oracle revealed that a major threat hanging over them and all mankind, by a nefarious plan of Ares, war and power hungry, wanted to trigger a world war.

Para ello, contaría con aliados que haría en el mundo de los hombres y con la comunidad de superhéroes, more than an unexpected ally: the god Hermes, who descend from Olympus to the world of men, to meet his "faithful."

Diana would then become an ambassador of peace and goodwill of the Amazon in the world of man, the mission would face many challenges, especially with the arrival of Infinite Crisis, when he was questioned throughout the world and his fellow superheroes, after killing Maxwell Lord.

Currently, the character is in the midst of the controversy over the change of suit not just in comics (designed by Jim Lee), but also by the pilot who is shooting a new TV series, with Adrienne Palicki as protagonist.

Some facts to note are:
- Wonder Woman has been part of both the Justice Society of America (JSA), the first superhero group, and the Justice League of America (JLA).
- From the first issues and much of the period of DC Pre-Crisis, Wonder Woman comics had a romance, especially late into the decade of 60, by the way how the woman was seen at the time, where much of the action revolved around her love for Steve Trevor, and even into the 60's also for the young Triton, who was in love with her since adolescence.
- That in relation to this, in his first appearance in the # 8 All Star Comics, so as not to let Steve Trevor and be as close to him, convinced the young nurse Diana Prince, who was exactly like her, to let him assume his identity, to ensure Trevor in the hospital, the real Diana Prince agreed, because it would allow to go in search of her boyfriend who had been sent to a distant headquarters.
- In 1964, at # 54 in the series The Brave and The Bold, appeared a youth group initially comprised of Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad, who later became known as Teen Titans. Given the success of this episode, a year later, in # 60 (June 1965, by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy), reappeared this group, but now with a fourth member: Wonder Girl.
The "tiny" detail is that the appearance of Wonder Girl meant a paradox, because it simply ... This character does not exist! And the explanation is simple: Robin was the sidekick (partner or partner) of Batman, the Flash Kid Flash and Aqualad was Aquaman, but it was not Wonder Girl Wonder Woman, as simply and as readers could be found Comic of the Amazon in those years was her younger self. And is that science through Amazon, Diana maintained constant contact with itself chair (Wonder Tot) and adolescent (Wonder Girl).
This would some time later, DC had to carry a story that showed that Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl were two different people, and thus was born ... Donna Troy!
- In the late sixties and early seventies, one of the many crises that the people of the Amazons, Diana changed her dress and for a long time, wore a white dress with long sleeves and high boots , also white. This suit, very much agree with the time, was evoked by Grant Morrison and Oscar Jimenez in JLA # 8 and 9 (August-September 1997).
- What to renew the character from Wonder Woman vol. 2 # 1 (February 1987), completely redefined, as a woman and heroin and delved into its mythological roots. Perez credibly told why costume design and Diana would carry his name, to be motivated by an American pilot who fell into the Themyscira island during the Second World War, which would be Diana Trevor, mother of Steve.
relationship with Steve Trevor also be changed, because now he would be a much larger man, so it is no longer justify a relationship between them, but rather he fell in love with Etta Candy.
- This would give the opportunity to Diana is to meet other men and thus is much speculation about the romance between her and Superman, which was elucidated in Action Comics # 600 in 1988, leaving only as friends, with Trevor Barnes, an African-American, shortly after the events of Worlds at War, with Batman from JLA # 80 and 90 (June 2003 January 2004) or, most recently with Tom Tresser (Nemesis), following the events of Infinite Crisis.
addition, it was suggested that the Wonder Woman World War II ever existed, but then revised this concept to prove that the very Hippolita, in tribute to his daughter, had traveled to the past and had been a Wonder Woman the JSA.
- The numbers 90, 0, 91 and 92 (September to December 1994, by William Messner Loebs and Mike Deodato Jr.), Queen Hippolita, apparently disappointed by the role of Diana in the world of man, has to have a new tournament, where the mantle of Wonder Woman finished being delivered to Artemis, a warrior of a group of Amazons who had been lost for a long time and whose leader was Antiope, sister Hippolita loss.
This arch marked the distance between mother and daughter, Diana discovered by a revelation in a dream, that Hippolita sister had betrayed her love for Hercules and in fact, she was the spitting image of his aunt, moreover, Diana did not explain why aggressive treatment for her mother at the time.
- From Wonder Woman # 93 (January 1995, by William Messner-Loebs and Mike Deodato Jr.), Diana debut new suit then, after Artemis assume the role of Wonder Woman. For a few numbers, used a light blue jacket, which covered a sort of black top, lycra shorts mid-thigh type, with double white stars and yellow W (also seen on the jacket), bracelets and black boots.
not be amiss to say that it was Deodato who drew the Wonder Woman outfit bolder, and that Artemis was wearing pants for almost a dental floss.
- Later, it was discovered that Hippolita was aware that a prophecy indicated carrier that Wonder Woman costume was meant to die, so that the tournament was not an excuse to prevent her daughter died, which, however, just happened.
- The English artist John Byrne took over the collection between the numbers 101 to 136, Diana resuming her role as Wonder Woman. In # 105 (January 1996), appear for the first time Cassandra "Cassie" Sandsmark, who later became the new Wonder Girl and receive their powers of Zeus and a bond given by Ares.
- That Hippolita died during the events of World at War (Wonder Woman # 172, September 2001, by Phil Jimenez), when to see her daughter badly injured Diana, was launched to tackle alone Imperiex, which glared. In his tribute, Diana take some time for the scars that produced his confrontation with the villain.
- Soon after, in the story arc "The Witch and the Warrior" (Wonder Woman # 174 to 178, by Phil Jimenez), Diana had to face the evil plans of Circe who bewitched male heroes and turning them into beasts unleashed global chaos when the world was just recovering from the war Imperiex, so that the rider had to summon an army of superheroes to save the world and their peers.
- that following the events of Infinite Crisis, Diana left briefly her role as Wonder Woman, Donna cediéndolo, but returned shortly thereafter. During this period, reverted to its pre-crisis identity of Diana Prince, with the help of Batman, in a suit like he used the late 60's, entering metahumans Affairs Department, where his colleagues would Tom Tresser, Nemesis, who then begin a romance (although she would end up claiming to be him).
- and more recently with Michael Straczinsky scripts and design of Jim Lee, Wonder Woman opens a new suit, blue jacket, red shirt and dark pants.
- The first volume of Wonder Woman (Before Crisis on Infinite Earths), comprised 329 numbers, the second volume (between Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis), included 226 numbers. Currently, volume 3 is developed. In these accounts, does not consider his appearance on Sensation Comics (99 issues, with performances of her solo), Comics Cavalcade (29 numbers, where he appeared with other heroes) or their presence in the comics of the JSA and JLA.

Adaptations to other media.

Like many other characters, Wonder Woman has been adapted to other media like television, where they had room for live-action series, animated series and movies.

live action series: Early of the 70's, there was a presentation for a failed television series, played by Kathy Lee Crosby, then followed between 1975 and 1979 by the hit television series starring Lynda Carter.

This series will begin with a pilot program with the origins of Wonder Woman on Paradise Island, inhabited only by the Amazon and located at an unknown location in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. But in 1942, the largest Steve Trevor, American pilot, crashes in the same island, and thanks to him, the Amazons they learn that the outside world is at war against Nazism, who plans to enslave all humanity. Hippolita the Amazon Queen decides to send his most powerful warrior to help the Allies, for which we are calling for a tournament where the winner would be Princess Diana, daughter of Hippolita.

Wonder Woman lead the typical uniform of the comics, sometimes combined special and skirt layer, apart from their traditional weapons: power belt, tiara, bracelets and feminum protective magic golden lasso. Also making its appearance his mysterious "invisible plane." Its weakness shown in the first season, was the taking of the magic belt or sleeping with chloroform , ether or gas pumps. Diana adopt a secret identity as the military assistant Diana Prince, with her hair up and wearing thick glasses.

As curiosities, the series showed an additional power in Wonder Woman, the ability to mimic voices as well, their "spin rotation", later to be accompanied by flashes and thunder.

Successful pilot made then came a regular TV series, also starring Lynda Carter, Lyle Waggoner (Major Steve Trevor) and Queen Hippolita (Carolyn Jones). After the first season, the show changed hands, the ABC gave the rights to CBS, which showed New Adventures of Wonder Woman, but with a more modern and furnished this time in the 70 America.

At the time, is recorded a new series pilot, played by Adrianne Palicki now, but since it has already been criticized by the images shown of the dress.

series and animated films: Wonder Woman appeared in different versions of the Super Friends in the 70 and 80, a light version of the Justice League. Most recently she was seen in the animated series of the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

In 2008, appeared in the movie Justice League: The New Frontier is set in the 50's, during the Cold War, where the heroes were viewed with suspicion, thinking they were a thing of the Communists. Here, Wonder Woman was a harsh and unforgiving.

In 2009, he had his own animated movie, Wonder Woman, which returns to its origin, but placing it at the present time.

In 2010, he appeared in the animated Superman / Batman: Revelation, where he decided to welcome Kara, the cousin of Superman newcomer to train and protect it from possible threats, until you are ready to face the world. This would lead to grips with Superman himself.
